The man was reportedly holding onto a boat and units were en route at 3:07 p.m. Firefighters advised people to avoid the area.
They said the man requested the help of the U.S. Coast Guard because of an issue with his boat. The agency was on scene and San Francisco firefighters were clearing the area by 3:15 p.m.
