Woman stabbed, dumped on remote road dies

A 19-year-old Tracy woman found stabbed on Tesla Road in unincorporated Livermore in eastern Alameda County early Monday morning has died, a sheriff’s spokesman said.

The woman was stabbed multiple times and was airlifted to Eden Medical Center in Castro Valley, where she was pronounced dead at 4:30 a.m., Sgt. Ray Kelly said.

The woman was found near Tesla Road about two miles west of the Carnegie State Vehicular Recreation Area, according to Kelly.

California Highway Patrol officials initially reported a collision was blocking Tesla Road in both directions in that area at 2:44 a.m.

Kelly said a motorist spotted the female victim on the ground in that area and CHP officers and Alameda County fire crews responded.

Kelly said the fatal stabbing is “very disturbing and very concerning to us” and described it as “a particularly heinous crime.”

Kelly said investigators believe the woman was killed with malice aforethought and that she was dumped out of a vehicle and left for dead.

He said authorities think the woman was able to crawl on her stomach for about 100 yards or more before she was spotted by the motorist who reported the stabbing to authorities.

Kelly said it is rare for someone to be traveling on that section of Tesla Road in the early morning hours.
