Man found burned in Mission dies

A man found with life-threatening burns in San Francisco’s Mission District on Tuesday has succumbed to his injuries, according to police.

The victim, who was thought to be in his 50s, was found around 10:30 a.m. in the area of Osage and 24th streets and then transported to a hospital.

Officer Giselle Linnane said Tuesday there were no indications of a structure fire in the immediate area around the scene.

Police are investigating the matter as a suspicious death and are asking witnesses or anyone with surveillance video that could help determine how the victim was burned to come forward.
