Pacifica police arrested a man Saturday afternoon who allegedly brandished an imitation firearm, police said.
At about 2 p.m., officers were dispatched to the Linda Mar Shopping Center on Linda Mar Boulevard on a report of an intoxicated person who was trying to drive away, police said.
Someone reported that the suspect displayed and fired a firearm into a business at the shopping center, police said.
Officers arrived and located the suspect and detained him. He was identified as 20-year-old Jeffery Edward Shives Jr. of Pacifica.
Police found a realistic-looking airsoft pistol in Shives’ pants.
Police investigated and determined that Shives brandished the pistol but did not fire it, police said.
Shives also allegedly damaged a cellphone belonging to the person who called police to report him.
Shives was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated, brandishing an imitation firearm and felony vandalism, police said.
