Containment expected on Monterey Co. wildfire

A wildfire that started Saturday evening in unincorporated Monterey County grew by about 300 acres Sunday and was 60 percent contained by the evening, Cal Fire officials said.

As of 6:19 p.m. Sunday, the Parkfield Fire was holding at 1,816 acres and full containment is expected by this morning.

The fire was first reported at about 6:20 p.m. Saturday.
