Police arrest suspect in Sacramento quad homicide

A suspect has been detained in San Francisco in connection with a quadruple homicide investigation in Sacramento, police said Thursday morning.

Based on a call from family, Sacramento police conducted a welfare check at a house in the 1100 block of 35th Avenue in Sacramento’s South Land Park neighborhood around 7 a.m.

Patrol officers got no response and made entry into the house, where they found four dead bodies, according to police spokeswoman Linda Matthew:

“This does not appear to be a random act. … We believe the victims were known to the suspect.”

Information about the victim’s identities and how long they were left inside the home before being discovered by police was not immediately available.

Investigators are currently processing the scene to collect forensic evidence. Officers are also canvassing the neighborhood looking for additional witnesses, Matthew said.

San Francisco police confirmed that a suspect had been detained in connection with the case but did not provide a location for the arrest or provide a suspect’s identity.
