A man allegedly lit a boat on fire in San Francisco’s Marina District early Monday morning and then tried to swim away from the scene, police said.
The incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m., when the 41-year-old suspect allegedly lit a boat on fire in the first block of Yacht Road, then jumped into the water in an attempt to flee, police said.
Officers arriving to the scene found the man in the water, pulled him out and arrested him, police said.
The suspect’s identity was not released as of this morning.
