Police have reopened a portion of Deakin Street in Berkeley after it was closed Monday for an investigation into the deaths of two people at a residence, police said.
Deakin Street was closed Monday night between Webster and Prince streets, but has reopened to vehicle traffic and pedestrians, police said.
The closure occurred after two people were found dead Monday inside their residence in the 3000 block of Deakin Street, according to a statement issued by police shortly after 4 p.m.
Emergency crews arrived and found no apparent cause of death, so they evacuated the building and checked for hazardous materials.
The deaths are still under investigation, police said.
