Government center reopens after power outage

The County of Santa Clara Government Center will reopen Monday morning after closing for the weekend because of a power outage that occurred last week, county officials said.

The building, located at 70 W. Hedding St. in San Jose, will officially reopen at 8:00 a.m. when all employees at the location are expected to report to work.

On Thursday morning the building closed due to a power outage. The building was expected to reopen the following day, but officials announced Thursday afternoon that it would remain closed through the weekend, county officials said.

According to county spokeswoman Marina Hinestrosa, the outage was caused by the failure of three pieces of county equipment on switchgear that provides electricity to the building.

Maintenance crews have completed repairs and testing, and power has been restored to the building, officials said.
