BART restored after power outage stranded riders

BART officials said service through San Francisco has been restored after a power outage this afternoon stranded passengers on a train and stopped service between Daly City and San Francisco’s 24th Street station.

BART officials said as of 4:23 p.m. the power was back on between the Glen Park and Balboa Park stations where it went out earlier, stranding passengers on eight cars.

Firefighters were ready to evacuate the passengers, but the power came back on and the train was able to move.

There is still a 10-minute delay and no direct service to Richmond from Daly City, according to BART officials.

The problems started shortly after 2 p.m.
