Off-duty cop arrested for alleged domestic abuse

An off-duty Santa Clara police officer was arrested early this morning following an alleged domestic violence incident at a home in the city.

Just after midnight, officers responded to the 100 block of Saratoga Avenue on a report of domestic violence, according to police.

Upon arrival, officers learned the female victim had been dating the suspect, identified as 34-year-old Daniel Burdle. The woman had visible injuries, police said.

Officers arrested Burdle on suspicion of felony domestic violence.

He was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail.
