Man and woman arrested for alleged auto theft

A man and woman were arrested in Fairfield Tuesday morning after they were allegedly seen pushing a Ford Mustang down the street, and then trying to jumpstart it with a stolen BMW.

At about 2:09 a.m., a citizen in the 200 block of Concord Avenue called the police to report seeing Fairfield residents Michael Heath and Ayla Ohanlon pushing the old blue Mustang down the street.

When officers arrived, Heath and Ohanlon were trying to jumpstart the Mustang with the BMW, police said.

Officers checked the BMW’s plates, and found that it had been reported stolen out of Vallejo.

Police also allegedly found a loaded, sawed-off pump shotgun in the BMW.

Officers detained Heath and Ohanlon and found that Heath was on post-release community supervision (PRCS) through the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

Ohanlon was found to be on court probation in Solano County, police said.

The two were booked into the Solano County Jail on suspicion of possession of illegal weapons, possessing a stolen vehicle and violating their probation and PRCS conditions.
