A 31-year-old woman who was seven months pregnant had her baby delivered by cesarean section after a traffic collision in Vallejo Wednesday morning, according to police.
Officers responded to the vicinity of Mare Island Way and Kentucky Street at 6:29 a.m. on report of a collision.
They found that a Ford Explorer had rolled over and landed on top of a Ford F-150 pickup truck, trapping occupants inside.
The pregnant victim, a Vallejo resident, was at the wheel of the pickup. A 52-year-old Vallejo man was driving the Explorer.
Both drivers were hospitalized with significant injuries.
Investigators are trying to determine whether drugs, alcohol or other conditions may have been a factor in the collision. Anyone with more information is asked to call Cpl. Jeremy Huff at (707) 649-3569.
