Man pleads guilty to molesting ex-girlfriend’s daughter

A 30-year-old man pleaded guilty on Wednesday to molesting his girlfriend’s daughter over the course of two years in Salinas, according to the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office.

Luis Miguel Nunes Gaeta pleaded guilty to nine counts of felony child molestation involving forced intercourse, digital penetration and other types of sexual contact, prosecutors said.

The victim and her mother reported the molestations to police on July 15, according to prosecutors.

The abuse began when the girl was 12 years old and continued for two years at two different homes within Salinas, prosecutors said.

Gaeta is facing 24 years in prison for the crimes and is scheduled for sentencing at the Salinas Courthouse on Dec. 16.
