A woman was critically injured in a fire at an apartment building in San Francisco’s North Beach neighborhood early Tuesday morning, police said.
The fire was reported at 12:16 a.m. in the 200 block of Bay Street, where a neighbor heard a fire alarm and called building security, according to police.
A security guard saw flames through an apartment window, went inside the unit and pulled a 63-year-old woman out. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
Arson is not suspected in the blaze. No other information about the case was immediately available this morning.
