The star forward was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly assaulting Jermaine Edmondson at Conrad’s restaurant in East Lansing, Mich. Police described the alleged assault as a open-handed slap, while Edmondson said Green punched him in a statement to police.

Edmondson alleges a history involving the two, and said in a statement to police that associates of Green had choked him Friday evening.

Green’s alleged assault, which was witnessed by a police officer on the other side of the establishment’s window, led to misdemeanor assault and battery charges, which carry a maximum penalty of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine.
