Parks rangers and volunteers recently rescued three Great Horned Owlets from Marin County Parks preserves, officials with a wildlife advocacy group said Wednesday.
Over two weeks, the owlets were rescued, brought to the wildlife advocacy group WildCare’s wildlife hospital in San Rafael and returned to their parents.
All three had fallen from their nests, WildCare officials said.
Strong winds may have been the cause.
While fledgling or branching owlets are safe on the ground, an owlet that still has downy fluff needs immediate care, according to WildCare officials.
