Tenderloin stabbing victim identified

The victim of a fatal stabbing early Monday morning in San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood has been identified by the medical examiner’s office as 53-year-old San Joaquin County resident John Thompson Jr.

Police said the stabbing occurred at about 2:20 a.m. in the 500 block of Eddy Street.

Officers and medical personnel arrived and pronounced Thompson dead at the scene.

No arrests have been made in the case and no suspect information was immediately being released by police.
