Two armed suspects in ski masks robbed a bar at Dolores and 29th Streets Sunday night, making off with cash and injuring a patron before fleeing on foot, according to San Francisco police.
About 10:45 p.m. on Sunday night, two men brandishing handguns entered The Bar on Dolores and ordered the bartender to empty the cash register, police Officer Giselle Talkoff told SFBay.
After the bartender handed over the money, the robbers demanded more, and the bartender retrieved additional cash from a safe in a storage area, according to a bar employee. The suspects made off with about $3,000, the bar employee said.
About a dozen patrons were in the bar when the pair entered. One man was assaulted when he tried to reach for one of the suspect’s weapons, a patron who was at the bar at the time of the robbery told SFBay. The man was treated on scene for a wound on his head by responding paramedics.
The Bar on Dolores is located at 1600 Dolores Street and was formerly O’Greenberg’s, which closed in 2012 after 36 years as the only bar on Dolores Street.
P0lice are seeking surveillance footage from nearby homes or businesses that may help identify the suspects.
