Donald Penn will remain in Silver and Black for the 2016 season.
Multiple sources have confirmed to SFBay that tackle Donald Penn and the Raiders have reached an agreement and all that’s needed is a quill.
Penn has enjoyed his time with the Raiders but the two sides had difficulty reaching middle ground, something a source confirmed to SFBay nearly a week ago.
Oakland is expected to formally announce the deal sometime on Wednesday.
Penn has started all 32 games for the Raiders since joining in 2014 and has been a major cornerstone of the team’s turnaround.
According to Pro Football Focus, the Raiders left tackle has been among the league’s best, and has outperformed his predecessor Jared Veldheer.
The Raiders offensive line is now one of the most intimidating in the NFL, and Penn could help make it the league’s best.
Left to right, the starting line is Penn, Osemele, center Rodney Hudson, right guard Gabe Jackson and right tackle Austin Howard.
Derek Carr is going to have some fun in 2016.
