Super Bowl City shuts gates until Sunday

All gates to Super Bowl City in San Francisco will stay closed through Saturday night because the venue is at capacity, the Super Bowl Host Committee said.

The gates to the venue centered at Justin Herman Plaza at Market Street and The Embarcadero closed for the evening as of 5:51 p.m. Saturday night, the committee said on Twitter.

A spokesman for the committee P.J. Johnston said tens of thousands of people have been to Super Bowl City today and the big draw Saturday night was a free concert by Alicia Keys.

Super Bowl City will open again at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
