The gates to the venue centered at Justin Herman Plaza at Market Street and The Embarcadero closed for the evening as of 5:51 p.m. Saturday night, the committee said on Twitter.
A spokesman for the committee P.J. Johnston said tens of thousands of people have been to Super Bowl City today and the big draw Saturday night was a free concert by Alicia Keys.
Super Bowl City will open again at 11 a.m. on Sunday.
