All southbound Interstate Highway 880 lanes in Hayward have reopened after a fatal crash involving a motorcyclist and a truck, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The motorcyclist died in the crash. More information about the victim was not immediately available, CHP officials said.
The crash was reported at 6:01 a.m. on the highway near the Highway 92 connector to the San Mateo-Hayward Bridge.
The crash blocked lanes of the highway for more than two hours. All lanes reopened as of shortly before 8:40 a.m., according to the CHP.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
