An 89-year-old man died this afternoon when he was driving a dirt bike that rolled over in unincorporated Carmel-By-The-Sea, a California Highway Patrol spokesman said.
Around 3:40 p.m., the man was collecting wood and driving a three-wheeled motor dirt bike on private property on Paso Venado, off of Aguajito Road, CHP Officer Oscar Loza said.
The bike rolled over and ran over the man, Loza said.
Emergency crews were called and pronounced the man dead roughly 10 minutes later, according to Loza.
The Monterey County coroner’s office has been called to the scene, he said.
Investigators do not suspect alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash, Loza said.
