An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 3.3 shook near San Jose Wednesday afternoon, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The temblor was reported at 4:07 p.m. located 12 miles east of San Jose, 12 miles north of Morgan Hill and 14 miles east-southeast of Milpitas, USGS officials said.
The quake had a depth of 5.7 miles, according to the USGS.
