Fire crews responded to a report of a fire off of Roop and Leavesley roads near Coyote Lake Harvey Bear Ranch Park around 1:30 p.m., Cal Fire officials said.
As of 3:45 p.m., the blaze was 80 percent contained, according to Cal Fire.
About 50 firefighters are at the scene working to fully contain the blaze, Cal Fire officials said.
No structures were involved in the fire and no injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
