A woman was arrested after she was allegedly struck an officer with her car and led police on a chase on state Highway 12 from Sebastopol to Santa Rosa on Friday night.
Officers responded to a report of a woman stalking a member of a band at HopMonk Tavern at 230 Petaluma Ave. in Sebastopol around 9:45 p.m. Friday, police said.
Arriving officers learned restaurant staff repeatedly asked the woman to leave the business but she refused, according to police.
Employees then used force to move her out of the bar and called police. While officers were en route, restaurant staff reported the woman had left the business but arriving officers found her inside her silver Toyota Prius at a nearby parking lot, police said.
One of the officers tried to talk to the woman, but she started her car’s engine and quickly drove the vehicle in reverse, hitting the officer, according to police.
The officer, who was not injured in the collision, yelled at the woman and told her to stop the car but she exited the parking lot and drove to eastbound Highway 12, police said.
Another officer saw the vehicle on Highway 12 near state Highway 116, prompting him to activate his emergency lights and siren, but the woman continued down the freeway, according to police.
Police pursued the woman as she continued driving at speeds of about 60 mph on Highway 12 until she stopped for a red light at Fulton Road in Santa Rosa, police said.
Officers got out of their patrol cars and ordered the woman out of her vehicle, then smashed her driver’s side window after she did not comply with their orders.
The officers then removed the woman from the car and placed her in handcuffs, police said.
She was identified as 48-year-old Fremont resident Morgan Greene arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer, evading police and resisting police.
Greene was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital after she complained of glass in her eyes from the smashed window, police said.
Once she was medically cleared, she was transported to county jail where she is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Another Sebastopol police officer responding to the pursuit was involved in a separate collision with another car on Highway 12 at Fulton Road, police said.
That officer was not injured but the driver of the other car complained of pain and was transported to a hospital, where she was discharged hours later, police said.
The collision damaged both cars and is being investigated by Santa Rosa police because the incident took place within their jurisdiction.
