One majorly injured after car smashes into tree


One person suffered major injuries in a crash on U.S. Highway 101 in San Jose late this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Officers responded to a report of a crash on northbound Highway 101 just south of North First Street around 11:20 a.m., CHP Officer Ron Simmons said.

A car had crashed into a tree and the one injured person was transported to a hospital for major injuries, Simmons said.
