Icy Canadian cold to blast Bay Area

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the coming week for coastal areas of the Bay Area.

Temperatures today and tonight are expected to be in the 50s with lows reaching the 40s.

A cold weather system from Canada is expected to bring cold air into the region on Tuesday and Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.

The system could bring the coldest temperatures of the season by Wednesday night.

Freezing temperatures are possible in some areas late Wednesday night, mainly in inland valleys, according to the National Weather Service.

Patchy frost could occur close to the coast by early Thursday morning.
