SFBay is a 100-percent locally-owned San Francisco-based media startup featuring award-winning coverage of Bay Area news and sports. SFBay was named the best online news site in 2013 by the San Francisco Peninsula Press Club.
SFBay is seeking energetic interns to help us cover the Bay Area as news and sports editors.
SFBay editors work as reporters and producers for the Bay Area’s only truly local news and sports site, sniffing out and covering important stories in the field with lively, accurate writing and vibrant original photography.
Active, community-based reporting and enterprise is encouraged and supported with access and credentials to newsworthy events.
SFBay news editors report and cover front-page issues throughout the Bay Area, from minute-by-minute breaking news to coverage of meetings and local political institutions.
SFBay sports editors cover Bay Area professional and college sports with credentialed press box and locker room access to all local teams including the San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Golden State Warriors, San Jose Sharks, San Jose Earthquakes and more.
SFBay photographers report, shoot and transmit images of local news events, newsmakers, and live professional and college sports.
Strong candidates will have a background or education in journalism, a sharp and quick wit, and a sensitivity for stories that get people talking and engage a diverse audience.
You’ll work with other SFBay editors to cover, edit and post key Bay Area stories. SFBay has a vibrant, active virtual newsroom where we gather to assign, edit and discuss stories.
SFBay internships are paid positions: All editorial positions at SFBay — including interns — are paid on the same per-article rate.
