One person was killed and three more were wounded in two separate shootings over a five-hour period in Oakland on Saturday night and early this morning, a police officer said today.
The homicide was reported at 8:07 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Apgar and West streets, about a block from the MacArthur BART station, according to Oakland police Officer N. Allen. Officers arrived to find a victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
No suspects have been arrested in connection with the killing, which remains under investigation.
A second shooting around 12:35 a.m. in the 3300 block of Foothill Boulevard left three people injured, Allen said.
All three were taken to hospitals in stable condition.
A suspect who the victims apparently knew fled the scene in a vehicle and has not been arrested, she said.
