Mysterious hazmat scare hospitalizes two

A hazardous materials team left an area in San Francisco’s Sunset District this evening after taking two people to a hospital, a fire dispatcher said.

The fire department was called to the area of 28th Avenue and Pacheco Street near the Sunset Reservoir shortly after 2 p.m.

Two people were taken to a hospital as a precaution, but no one was seriously injured in the incident, according to the fire department.

Crews left the area at about 6:20 p.m.

Dispatchers did not immediately have information on what prompted the hazmat team to respond.
