One person was killed in a crash between an Amtrak train and vehicle in Oakland Monday night, police said.
Officers responded to a report of the crash at San Leandro Street and High Street shortly after 10 p.m., according to police.
The Amtrak Train No. 14, the Coast Starlight, was involved in the crash and is being held at the scene, Amtrak spokesman Marc Magliari said. Passengers and crew members on the train were not injured, Magliari said.
The train travels daily between Los Angeles and Seattle, he said. No further details were immediately available.
