Law enforcement personnel have surrounded a home in Sonoma this evening where a suspect in a stabbing is reportedly holed up and refusing to come out, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office.
The stabbing was reported just before 6 p.m. on the 1200 block of Mission Drive between Arnold Drive and Temelec Circle, according to Lt. Tim Duke.
Emergency responders were able to evacuate the victim from the area, but Duke said he could not provide information on the victim’s condition.
The suspect retreated inside the home, and law enforcement officials are trying to negotiate a peaceful surrender, Duke said.
Officials are not aware of any other weapons in the home besides the knife, but have asked some residents in the surrounding area to evacuate as a precautionary measure, Duke said.
Duke could not provide information on the suspect and victim but said they were known to each other.
