A car accident started a 100-acre vegetation fire in Contra Costa County Friday night, according to the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District.
The fire off of Marsh Creek Road, near Aspara Drive, and east of Clayton was reported shortly before 10 p.m., a Contra Costa County Fire Protection District dispatcher said.
A blaze started when a car drove into a power pole and power lines are down in the area, the dispatcher said. The fire is 50 percent contained as of this morning, the dispatcher said.
An evacuation order has been issued for homes along Bragdon Way, according to Cal Fire. The California Highway Patrol has closed all lanes at 16711 Marsh Creek Road in front the Clayton Regency Mobile Home Park due to the fire.
The CHP has also closed Marsh Creek Road at Aspara Drive and the roadway is estimated to reopen around 8 a.m., according to the CHP.
