Crews haul away wreckage of Flight 214

The last painfully-visible reminder of last Saturday’s Asiana Airlines plane crash has finally been hauled out of the view of thousands of daily air travelers.

The wreckage of last Saturday’s plane crash at San Francisco International Airport is being slowly and methodically dismantled and removed. The fuselage now rests in a less-visible storage lot at SFO.

Crews are cutting the plane into pieces for storage and ongoing use in the crash investigation, according to NTSB chair NTSB Deborah Hersman.

SFO hopes to have Runway 28L open and fully operational by Sunday.
