we stop and pause to thank a man. A man who shaped our early years
who raised us right and calmed our fears. His art drew us in
but wouldn’t you know it
that this gifted artist
was also a poet. He taught us to share
he taught us to care
he taught us that life
won’t always be fair. He taught us to try things that we’ve never had
he taught us that different doesn’t mean that it’s bad. And of all the joy that he managed to spread
the lessons, the credos, the books before bed The thing that stands out and holds up all the while
Is how the great Dr. Seuss always got us to smile.
Thank you, Theodor Geisel!
