Two words: Beer week

Kick to the side those New Years weight loss resolutions. Shake off that urge to stay indoors for the next three months after the holidays.

SF Beer Week is back.

Starting February 10, you’ll have the opportunity to sample scintillating sips from more than 60 breweries from all over Northern California.

Kicking off the week-long fête will be an Opening Night Celebration at the Concourse Exhibition Center, where the SF Brewers Guild will host some 50 breweries, offering tastes of new specialty brews.

And while tickets for the opening night festivities will cost $55, most of the tastings throughout the week will be at local watering holes, and won’t charge you extra for admission. Haight Street favorite Alembic will be featuring beers from local sips like 21st Amendment, while Magnolia Pub & Brewery will be featuring a food tasting and beer pairing based on its own delicious brews.

Mission Street staple Rosamunde Sausage Grill is even turning the bash-de-booze into a game. For $12, beer enthusiasts can compete in sausage-eating-beer-drinking contest for a chance to win $100 in gift certificates.

And the fun isn’t held to this side of the bridge. Beer-friendly spots in Berkeley, Redwood City and Windsor will also be joining in the festivities, bringing you sips by Devil’s Canyon Brewery in Belmont, or Drake’s Barrel House in San Leandro. Berkeley faves Pyramid Ale and Triple Rock will also be participating.

Ticket prices and event details can be found at SFBeerWeek.org.

Drink on my friends.
