The folks at San Francisco International Airport expect a record number of travelers during next week’s Thanksgiving holiday. That’s either good news for carriers or bad news for families with small, impatient children.
From today to Nov. 27, about 1.2 million passengers are expected to fly in and out of SFO, an almost 5 percent increase from last year’s Thanksgiving total, according to Michael McCarron, the airport’s spokesman.
Next Friday is projected to be the busiest day, with 140,482 passengers expected to use the airport.
In a statement, airport director John Martin hinted airport staff are aware of potential headaches:
“As always, we are doing everything we can to make travel through the holidays more enjoyable and convenient.”
That might be code for, “The terminal bars stocked with plenty of beer and liquor.”
