Hey you there! Put down the greens and back away very slowly.
L.A. county-based Ready Pac Foods have recalled almost 5,400 cases of bagged romaine lettuce due to E. coli contamination. The bagged salads were distributed through California and 14 other Western states and branded as Trader Joe’s, Safeway, Raley’s, Ready Pac and Dining In lettuce. They have a sell-by date of Nov. 18.
According to the Food and Drug Administration, the bacteria was found after a random government test.
At the moment, there are no known reports of illnesses caused by the lettuce and no other Ready Pac products have been recalled.
