A man who attacked another man with a baseball bat and took his car keys on Friday evening in Pacifica remains at large, a police sergeant said Monday.
Officers responded to a report of a fight involving a baseball bat in the 700 block of Bradford Way west of state Highway 1 around 5:10 p.m., Pacifica police Sgt. Thomas Cumming said.
Arriving officers went to the scene where they found a 23-year-old Redwood City man who told them he had arranged to meet with the suspect to buy narcotics, Cumming said.
The suspect met with the 23 year old at another location and drove together to Bradford Way where he told the victim he could purchase narcotics, according to the sergeant. The suspect left the victim in the car for about 10 minutes then returned to assault him with the baseball bat and rob him of his car keys, Cumming said.
The suspect then fled on foot and was last seen running west on Mori Point Road, according to Cumming. The victim was treated by paramedics for injuries to his head and did not require hospitalization, the sergeant said.
Officers conducted a yard-to-yard search and looked in the area for the suspect without success, Cumming said.
The suspect is described as a white man in his 20s who was also armed with a pellet gun at the time of the incident. He was last seen wearing a brown T-shirt, khaki pants and black baseball cap. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Pacifica police at (650) 738-7314.
