The Raiders cast a wide net for a quarterback, which led them former Green Bay and current Seattle backup Matt Flynn.
The Raiders have a lot of bottomless black holes that need to be filled.
That includes quarterback, where the Raiders have Carson Palmer — for the moment — and Tyrelle Pryor, whom they are not exactly confident in.
As seems to always be the case with the Raiders, they are in search of a serviceable signal caller.
According to CBS Sports, they will acquire Matt Flynn from Seattle.
NFL Network’s Albert Breer is reporting the Raiders will give up a 2013 draft pick and a pick in next year’s draft.
Seahawks will get a 2013 draft pick and some sort of conditional pick in 2014 as part of the Matt Flynn trade, if it's completed.

Breer also reports that the completion of the deal is waiting for the Raiders and Flynn to re-work his contract. Flynn is scheduled to make $7.25 million in 2013 and $8.25 million in 2014.

Flynn is best known for throwing for 480 yards in six touchdowns for Green Bay in the last game of the 2011 season. It was Flynn’s only start of the season, one he was able to spin into a trade to Seattle where he signed a three-year, $19.5 million deal.
In his first training camp with the Seahawks, Flynn lost the starting quarterback job to rookie Russell Wilson and only threw nine passes during the entire season, completing five of those passes for 68 yards.
What this means for Palmer is that if he wants to stay with the Raiders, he will have to take the pay cut they are asking him to take.
The 33-year-old Palmer is scheduled to make $13 million in 2013. The Raiders obviously don’t want to pay that and are asking him to restructure his deal. If he refuses, they will probably release him.
The Raiders are also looking at using the 3rd overall pick in April’s draft on West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith. Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio wonders if this trade means the Raiders won’t pursue Smith or any other top quarterback in the draft.
