A solo-car crash early Monday on Port Chicago Highway in Concord has claimed a second victim, police said.
The collision was reported about 1:45 a.m. on northbound Port Chicago Highway near High School Avenue, where a car hit a light pole.
A 51-year-old woman who was a passenger in the car died at the scene and the 37-year-old driver was hospitalized. Concord police said Monday afternoon that the driver had succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The victims’ names have not been released.
