Effective immediately, additional evacuation orders have been issued for the entire city of of Healdsburg and town of Windsor. The city and town are within a broader order from that includes areas from Highway 128 at North Knights Valley to the Napa County line, and the Highway 101 Corridor from south Geyserville through Windsor and all areas east to Chalk Hill Road.
In addition, new evacuation warnings have been issued in the area of west Dry Creek Valley to Forestville, and Larkfield and Mark West Drainage.
The most recent orders were issued at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in a joint release from fire and sheriff officials.
The expanded evacuation zones come as the Kincade Fire grew overnight to 25,455 acres, with 23,500 structures threatened in its current path. Forty-nine structures, including 21 homes, have already been destroyed since the fire broke out late Wednesday evening. The blaze was just 10 percent contained as of Saturday morning, Cal Fire officials said.
An evacuation warning was issued Friday night for residents of the Cobb Mountain area in Lake County and some surrounding communities in northern Sonoma County.
Two thousand people have already been evacuated and all roads east of state Highway 101 in the Geyserville area are closed.
A total of 2,090 fire personnel have been deployed to fight the blaze, and several air tankers from throughout the state are flying fire suppression missions.
