A 25-year-old man from Los Banos in Merced County was fatally shot in the parking lot at the Fruitvale Station Shopping Center in Oakland on Thursday night and a suspect was arrested a short time later, police said. The victim was shot in the 3000 block of East Ninth Street in the heart of Oakland’s Fruitvale district shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
The names of the victim and the suspect aren’t being released at this time, police said.
