The legendary Outside Lands returns to Golden Gate Park this weekend.
The legendary Outside Lands returns to Golden Gate Park this weekend filled with talented music artists and downright delicious food.
Top tier performers will play on stages all over the designated areas in the park. Most notably, headliners Twenty One Pilots play on Friday, Childish Gambino on Saturday and, coming out of retirement just to play San Francisco’s famous festival, Paul Simon on the last day.
Alongside these headliners, SFBay will walk the grounds and watch selected acts each day.
It can be overwhelming, but large outdoor festivals like OSL gives the individual opportunities to make their own memories.
If you feel like you can’t decide on who to see, SFBay has recommendations for each day.

Beer Lands, Wine Lands, Cheese Lands, and yes, Grass Lands, with first-ever on-site legal sales and consumption of marijuana, are coming back alongside the music to round out this Bay Area event.
Held in San Francisco, a city well aware of ecological footprints, Outside Lands wants to continue to make some big strides in environmental safety for its more than 200, 000 attendees.
The Outside Lands website said last year:
“We created nearly 400K pounds of waste last year, but we diverted 92 percent of that waste through composting, recycling and reusing.”
They go on explaining that it’s all about reaching that 100 percent goal, and with a little help from Sunday’s headliner, they might just reach it:
“As part of his rare live performance at Outside Lands this summer, Paul Simon announced that he will donate the net proceeds from his artist fee to environmental philanthropic organizations he believes in.”
The Barbary comes back with D.A.V.E., Discussions About Vitually Everything. The professionals discussing include ‘Jaron Lanier: Vitual Reality is the Opposite of Artificial Intelligence,’ ‘Ear Hustle: A Conversation with Nigel Poor & Earlonne Woods moderated by Snap Judgment’s Glynn Washington’ and ‘NPR’s All Things Considered: Audie Cornish and Aparna Nancherla Live.’
Festival gates open and close this Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 9:40 p.m. on Sunday.
