A Napa woman was in critical condition Wednesday evening after she was struck in a crosswalk by a vehicle, Napa police said.
The 80-year-old woman was crossing the street in a marked crosswalk at Soscol Avenue near Pear Tree Lane around 3 p.m. when she was struck by a vehicle that was turning north onto Soscol Avenue, police said. The woman suffered head and facial injuries and was taken to a hospital.
The driver and a witness remained on the scene, and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision, police said.
Northbound Soscol Avenue between Old Soscol Way and Trancas Street was closed for approximately four hours during the investigation. Anyone who witnesses the collision is asked to contact Napa police Officer Aaron Medina at (707) 257-9223 or [email protected].
