Fire officials said the forward progress has been stopped on a wildfire that started Tuesday afternoon near King City.
As of 7:33 p.m. the forward progress had been stopped and the fire was 75 percent contained, Cal Fire Battalion Chief Mike Morlan said. But the fire has grown to 2,500 acres.
Firefighters responded late Tuesday afternoon to a vegetation fire on Lonoak Road, three miles east of King City. The fire had burned 150 acres when fire crews arrived.
The wildfire is not threatening any structures and no one has been injured.
It’s burning in some grasslands, Morlan said. The cause is being investigated.
