Reports of shots fired at the Marina Vista Apartments at 201 Maine St. came in at 4:57 p.m. Wednesday, police Lt. Herman Robinson said.
Officers who responded found a man down in a parking lot just west of the R building at the apartment complex.
Robinson said the man suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his extremities. The man was taken to a hospital.
Robinson described the suspect as a black man in his 30s wearing a blue sweater, black do-rag and red hat.
