The Solano County coroner’s office has identified a motorcyclist who died in a collision Wednesday afternoon in Vallejo as 30-year-old Daniel Coit.
Coit, a Vallejo resident, was riding a motorcycle that was stolen in Benicia on Oct. 23, Vallejo police Lt. Michael Nichelini said.
Coit was speeding east on Columbus Parkway around 4 p.m. and failed to stop for a red light at North Ascot Parkway, Nichelini said.
The motorcycle struck the rear of a 2014 Dodge Durango that was making a legal left turn from Columbus Parkway to southbound North Ascot Parkway, according to Nichelini.
Coit was pronounced dead at the scene, and the Durango driver was not injured, Nichelini said.
A truck driver who was stopped at the red light recorded the collision with a dashboard camera, the lieutenant said.
Coit also had an Antioch address, Nichelini said.
